Moving forward, not moving on
Love does not end, so grief does not either
People often speak about moving on after loss. For us, that has never felt possible, or even desirable. Flo is our daughter. She remains part of our family, our decisions, our celebrations and the way we see the world.
Moving forward does not mean leaving her behind. It means carrying her with us into a life we never asked for. Some days that looks like creating something joyful in her name. Other days it means crying, saying her name and admitting that we cannot make sense of how she is not here.
We are learning that grief and happiness can exist together. A beautiful day can still ache. Laughter can be real even when sadness sits underneath it. Loving the life and the children we have beside us does not mean we miss Flo any less.
We do not have all the answers. We are simply finding ways to keep living, keep loving and keep Flo present. That is what moving forward means to us.
We carry Flo with us. Always.
